This Cookie Policy defines information about cookies and cookie-like technologies used by the operator PROFUNDUM, education, business consulting and trade, d.o.o., Vrba 18a, 4274 Žirovnica on the website https://profundum.si. General information on the processing of personal data can be found in our privacy policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files created when you visit a website and contain information (a sequence of letters and numbers) that the user’s device (e.g. computer, tablet or mobile phone) downloads when you visit a website.
What is their purpose?
Cookies are essential for providing a user-friendly online service. The most common e-commerce functions would not be possible without cookies. Cookies make the interaction between the web user and the website faster and easier.
We use cookies to learn more about how users use our website content. They help the website to remember the user’s preferences and experience and therefore help to improve your user experience when you visit the website. The operator uses cookies only to collect information relating to the use of the website and to optimise its marketing activities. The data is not processed on an individual level.
Cookies are used for a variety of purposes:
– to maintain the functionality of the website (cookies enable the site to function properly so that you can move around the site and use its features)
– in improving and making the website work more efficiently (cookies to collect statistics about the website user’s habits, i.e. how users use the website and which pages they visit most often)
– personalising the user experience (cookies allow a website to remember your choices and personalise the next time you visit a particular website so you can get to what you want quickly)
– enabling online shopping
– when linking your website to social networks such as Facebook, Instagram
– optimising marketing content (so we can offer you content that is relevant to you and your interests)
Which cookies do we use?
The website uses several types of cookies, each of which has a specific function.
We use session cookies, which are temporarily stored in computer memory while the user is browsing the website and are deleted when the user closes the web browser or when a certain amount of time has elapsed (with the expiry of the session).
Persistent cookies remain on the user’s computer even when the browser is closed (approximately 6 months). They are used to ensure that the username or password remains stored on the website and does not have to be re-entered each time the user visits the website.
The types of cookies we use are defined in more detail below:
1.) Necessary cookies: these are cookies that are strictly necessary to enable our website and online shop to be used smoothly (e.g. the website remembers the language and other settings of the individual, the login information of the user account, etc.). These cookies are used for the sole purpose of displaying the web pages correctly and cannot identify you, as IP addresses are automatically masked. These cookies are always placed on your device, regardless of your consent. If you delete or disable these cookies, you may experience problems browsing the website.

2.) Preference cookies: these cookies allow the website to recognise you on a return visit, at your explicit request, so that you do not have to re-enter your details each time (for example, “Remember me”). If you have added items to your basket and ended the session without completing your purchase and without removing them, these cookies allow you to continue your shopping experience the next time you visit the website (within a limited period of time), and to search for the same items that you have selected. Functionality cookies are not essential to the functioning of the website, but they improve the quality of your browsing experience.
[cookie_audit category=”preference” style=”winter” columns=”cookie,duration,description”]
3.) Analytical cookies: analytical cookies allow us to perform statistical analyses of the use of our website. They show the activities of all users of our website, i.e. how users use our website, in order to adapt the website as much as possible to the needs and preferences of the majority. Cookies collect information in an anonymous form, including the number of users of the website, where users have come to the website from and the websites they have visited. Based on this anonymised and aggregated information, you cannot be identified.
Some cookies are automatically removed from your device when you close your browser, others are retained for up to 24 months after your last visit to our website.
[cookie_audit category=”analytics” style=”winter” columns=”cookie,duration,description”]
4.) Marketing cookies: these cookies are used for advanced advertising such as remarketing and targeted advertising. By using these cookies, we can offer users of our website products and services on other websites (e.g. Google, Facebook) that the individual was interested in when visiting our website. Since cookies process personal data that can be transferred to other personal data processors, they are only uploaded if the website user gives explicit consent.

For online advertising, we use the Facebook Custom Audiences service, which allows you, as a Facebook user, to be shown targeted and personalised ads from our online offer and, in particular, additional discounts and promotions on your Facebook page after you have voluntarily entered your e-mail address or made a purchase on our website. You can see whether we have included you in such promotions in your Facebook profile settings (tab “Advertisers and Businesses”). You can make changes in the tab “Ad Settings” or “Ad Settings – Ads based on data from partner companies”.
When a user visits our website, a connection is established with the Facebook server. Our website uses the Facebook Pixel for marketing purposes, in particular so that we can offer interesting Facebook advertisements to users who have visited our website. We use cookies via the Facebook Pixel to check whether a user has been redirected to our website after clicking on Facebook ads, thereby tracking the effectiveness of Facebook ads and enabling us to continuously optimise our website
The data collected about you in this way remains anonymous to us and cannot be used to obtain personal information or be used to link you to your identity. If a user of our website is logged into the user account of another provider, e.g. Facebook, these providers may track the visitor’s activities on our website, in accordance with their terms and conditions and the settings of the user account with that provider, even if the user has not consented to the use of advertising cookies. If Facebook links this data to a local user account, our company has no influence on the scope or further use of the data collected by Facebook. You can find out more about the purpose and scope of data collection and further processing by Facebook, as well as your rights and options for setting your privacy protection, in the Facebook data protection tips: https://www.facebook.com/policy.php
